Workshops

HFACS, Inc. offers both client-centered and open workshops taught by certified HFACS instructors either in-person or virtually. For our open-enrolment workshops, HFACS Inc. has proudly partnered with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to provide professional training in human factors and safety for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Upon completion of our intensive 2-day workshop, participants will have the skills to apply the HFACS framework, along with its companion tools to (1) perform a thorough and credible human factors analysis of safety events and (2) systematically generate effective interventions to reduce recurrence.

Topics to be covered:

  • Integrating human factors and system safety principles into Root Cause Analysis
  • Utilizing the Human Factors Analysis & Classification System (HFACS) to identify and analyze systemic causes of harm during your RCA activities
  • Developing novel corrective actions for improving safety using the Human Factors Intervention Matrix (HFIX)
  • Selecting the best HFIX solution using the multiple-criteria decision tool called FACES
